Nduga, Highland Papua – A peaceful and joyful atmosphere filled the GPDI (Pentecostal Church in Indonesia) Yericho Congregation in Nogolait, Kenyam District, Nduga Regency, as dozens of Sunday school children joined a worship service led by policewomen from the Public Relations Task Force of Operation Peace Cartenz-2025 on Sunday, June 8, 2025.
Around 70 children enthusiastically took part in the spiritual event, which also coincided with the celebration of Pentecost Sunday. The presence of the female police officers brought excitement and hope to the congregation, offering a message of peace and solidarity amid ongoing security challenges in the region.
The Head of Operation Peace Cartenz-2025, Police Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by Deputy Head of Operations, Police Commissioner Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized that this activity was part of a humanistic approach by the police to connect with local communities, particularly the young generation of Papua.
“We want the children of Papua to feel that the police, especially through the female officers of Operation Peace Cartenz-2025, are here to bring goodness, security, and hope for a better future,” said Brig. Gen. Faizal Ramadhani.
In the same vein, the Head of Public Relations Task Force, Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., regarded the worship event as a real example of the police’s commitment to building public trust in Papua through persuasive engagement.
“This is one of the tangible expressions of the police’s commitment to gaining the trust of the Papuan people. We prioritize humanitarian approaches, especially toward children, so that a sense of security arises from closeness, not fear,” he explained.
The joint worship event served not only as a religious gathering but also as a strategic step to strengthen emotional ties between security forces and the local population, particularly in conflict-prone areas like Nduga Regency.
