Families of KKB Victims Express Gratitude to Police and Government, Fully Support Law Enforcement Efforts

Purwakarta — The repatriation of the remains of victims of the atrocities committed by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Papua was filled with grief. Facilitated by the police and government, the bodies were successfully returned to their respective hometowns in a dignified condition and were received by the families with a mixture of sorrow and gratitude.

The victims, Rahmat Hidayat and Saepudin, were returned to their hometown in Sukajadi Village, Purwakarta, West Java. In an official statement, a representative of the family, who is also the Head of the Government Affairs Section of Sukajadi Village, expressed appreciation for the assistance provided by law enforcement and government officials.

“On behalf of the Sukajadi Village Government Section and as a representative of the families, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to the Indonesian National Police and the government for their support in repatriating the remains of Saepudin, a victim of KKB brutality,” he said.

He also voiced strong support for law enforcement to act decisively against the armed group.

“I urge the Indonesian National Police and the government to eradicate the KKB completely,” he stated firmly.

Further gratitude was expressed by Ratna, the wife of the late Rahmat Hidayat, who shared her appreciation for the attention and support extended to her family during the repatriation process of her husband, a victim of the KKB’s heinous acts.

“I, Ratna, the wife of a victim of KKB atrocities in Papua, sincerely thank the local government and the Indonesian National Police for bringing my husband’s body back home,” she said with deep sorrow.

Ratna also emphasized the need for the government and authorities to leave no room for the armed criminal groups that continue to pose a threat to public safety in Papua.

“I implore the government and the police to eradicate and eliminate the KKB completely,” she added emphatically.

The statements from the victims’ families serve as a stark reminder of the profound suffering caused by KKB’s violent actions against civilians. The Indonesian National Police, through the Cartenz Peace Operation, continues to reaffirm its commitment to firmly addressing all forms of armed criminality that disrupt peace and security in Papua.

The successful repatriation of the victims’ remains underscores the state’s commitment to ensuring the rights, safety, and dignity of all Indonesian citizens, no matter where they are.
