Purwakarta — A somber atmosphere enveloped the arrival of the bodies of two victims of the brutal attack carried out by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Papua, at Sukajadi Village, Purwakarta Regency, West Java. The repatriation process of the late Rahmat Hidayat and Saepudin proceeded smoothly, facilitated by the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and the government.
The victims’ families expressed deep appreciation for the state’s presence and assistance throughout the repatriation. In an official statement, the Head of the Government Affairs Division of Sukajadi Village, who also represented the bereaved families, conveyed heartfelt gratitude to all parties involved.
“On behalf of the families and the people of Sukajadi Village, we sincerely thank the Indonesian National Police and the government for their efforts in ensuring the proper return of the late Saepudin. We deeply value the attention and concern that has been shown,” he said.
He further expressed hope that law enforcement will take firm and decisive action against the armed groups that continue to terrorize communities in Papua.
“We fully support strong law enforcement efforts against the KKB. These groups must be eradicated to prevent further loss of innocent lives,” he emphasized.
A similar sentiment was shared by Ratna, the wife of the late Rahmat Hidayat. In the midst of her grief, she extended her gratitude for the support given by the authorities in bringing home her husband’s remains.
“As the wife of Rahmat Hidayat, a victim of the KKB atrocities in Papua, I want to express my deep appreciation to the local government and the Indonesian Police for helping return my husband’s body. This gesture means so much to our family,” Ratna said with a trembling voice.
She also urged the government and law enforcement agencies not to tolerate the presence of armed criminal groups.
“I hope there will be no more victims like my husband. Please act firmly. Do not give the KKB any room to continue their acts of terror,” she added.
The statements made by the victims’ families underscore the deep wounds left behind by the violence inflicted by the KKB. The Indonesian National Police, through the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, remains committed to enforcing the law and securing the region from any threats posed by these criminal groups.
The successful repatriation of the victims’ remains stands as a clear demonstration of the state’s responsibility in protecting the rights, safety, and dignity of every Indonesian citizen—wherever they may be.
