Jayapura – In celebration of Eid al-Adha 1446 Hijri, the Law Enforcement Task Force (Satgas Gakkum) of Operation Peaceful Cartenz (ODC) 2025 held a Qurban ceremony at the Jayapura Post on Friday morning (June 6, 2025). The activity symbolized gratitude and strengthened camaraderie among personnel amidst their security duties in Papua.
Two cows were slaughtered during the ceremony, led by Kompol Suheriadi, S.H., S.I.K., M.M., the Head of the Investigation Sub-Task Force, along with Kompol Aries Diego Kakori, S.I.K., the Operational Staff Officer of Satgas Gakkum ODC-2025.
The event began at 10:00 AM local time in the Jayapura ODC Post compound. It was attended by junior officers (Pama) and enlisted personnel (Ba) from the task force. Beyond being an act of worship, the Qurban ceremony served as a way to foster solidarity among personnel.
“Eid al-Adha is not just about the act of sacrificing animals; it also teaches us about sincerity and sacrifice in fulfilling our duties to maintain security and public order,” said Kompol Suheriadi.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations for ODC-2025, Kombes Pol Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., expressed appreciation for the activity, emphasizing the importance of upholding spiritual values amidst the demands of duty.
“We want to show that even while serving far from our families, we continue to uphold spiritual and social values as part of our integrity and dedication,” said Kombes Pol Yusuf Sutejo.
The Qurban ceremony proceeded safely, orderly, and solemnly. All the meat from the sacrifice will be distributed to task force personnel and nearby communities in need.
