Jayapura– Bripda Josua Ridwan Oberlin Nainggolan (22), a police officer wounded in an attack by an Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, Highland Papua, has been transferred to Bhayangkara Police Hospital Level I in Kramat Jati, Jakarta, for advanced medical care. The evacuation was carried out on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 1:30 PM WIT, using Sriwijaya Air, after receiving initial treatment at Bhayangkara Police Hospital Level II in Jayapura.
Bripda Josua suffered serious injuries during the incident. According to AKBP Dr. Rommy Sebastian, M.Kes., M.H., CPM., Head of Bhayangkara Hospital Jayapura, the officer was in stable condition before being transferred. “The initial medical procedures were completed appropriately. The referral to Jakarta ensures that specialized care is provided by expert doctors. We request prayers from everyone for Bripda Josua’s swift recovery,” stated Dr. Rommy.
In response to the incident, Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., Head of the Peace Cartenz 2025 Operations, highlighted efforts to reinforce security in Yahukimo and neighboring areas. “We have instructed the deployment of additional personnel to strengthen security in Dekai and its surroundings. The police are resolute in maintaining stability in Papua,” he emphasized.
Brigadier General Faizal also reiterated that threats against officers and civilians would not be tolerated. “The Peace Cartenz Operation remains steadfast in its mission to ensure safety and a stable environment,” he added.
Separately, Kombes Pol. Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., spokesperson for the Peace Cartenz Operation, confirmed that the situation in Yahukimo is now under control. “We assure that conditions in Dekai are secure, and community activities are proceeding as usual. Our personnel remain vigilant to safeguard the area,” he explained.
Kombes Yusuf further appealed to the public for support and calmness. “We call on everyone to pray for Bripda Josua’s recovery and to join in supporting efforts to maintain peace in Papua,” he urged.
