Jayapura — The Law Enforcement Task Force of Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 continues to demonstrate its firm commitment to upholding the law in Papua. On Friday, May 16, 2025, personnel from the Investigation Sub-task Force, led by IPTU Kamaruddin, S.H., carried out the handover of a suspect and evidence (Phase II) involving Yuni Enumbi, also known as Jumuniaso or Sisapugu, to the Jayapura District Prosecutor’s Office.
The handover was conducted following the declaration of case completeness (P-21) by the Papua High Prosecutor’s Office through letter Number: B-1124/R.1.4/Eku.1/05/2025, dated May 14, 2025. The suspect was handed over along with 36 pieces of evidence, including several long-barreled and short-barreled firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and hundreds of millions of rupiah in cash allegedly linked to the crimes committed.
“This handover of the suspect and evidence reflects the commitment of Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz to law enforcement against armed criminal offenders threatening security in Papua. It also showcases the strong synergy between the National Police and the Prosecutor’s Office in upholding the justice process,” affirmed Head of Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by Deputy Head of Operation Peace Cartenz, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum.
The suspect Yuni Enumbi has been charged under Article 1 paragraph (1) of Emergency Law No. 12 of 1951 for the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. During the Phase II process, two Public Prosecutors, Ahmad Kobarubun, S.H. and Rusda Sinaga, S.H., were present to examine the suspect and verify the completeness of the case file and physical evidence.
Among the submitted evidence were: two SS1 type long-barreled rifles, four G2 Combat pistols, one PCP air rifle, hundreds of rounds of various calibers, one Toyota Hilux vehicle, and several bank account documents under the suspect’s name.
Head of Public Relations for Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., issued a public appeal urging the community not to become involved in illegal activities, particularly concerning the trafficking or possession of illegal firearms.
“We urge all Papuan citizens not to engage in the possession or distribution of illegal firearms. Let us work together to create a peaceful, safe, and prosperous Papua. Should you come across any suspicious activity, please report it immediately to law enforcement authorities,” he stated.
Through the execution of this Phase II process, Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz reaffirms its commitment to consistently pursue and dismantle armed criminal networks threatening security in Papua. Law enforcement will continue to be carried out professionally and humanely, as part of broader efforts to ensure a safer and more stable Papua for all citizens.
