Nduga – Kenyam – Highland Papua – A different atmosphere filled the air in Kenyam District, Nduga Regency, Highland Papua, on Wednesday afternoon, May 14, 2025.
Laughter and cheer from school children marked their encounter with personnel from the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025.
The presence of these security forces was not merely for law enforcement purposes, but also to deliver a message of peace and hope for the future of the younger generation in a region often associated with conflict.
The warm interaction between the children and the task force members was captured in a photograph that reflected friendship and the spirit of peace. The image serves as a symbol that peace still lives and grows within the community of Kenyam, despite the area’s frequent association with violence.
Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2025, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by Deputy Head of Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized in a separate statement that the presence of the task force is not only to enforce the law against armed criminal groups (KKB) and political criminal groups (KKP), but also to ensure a sense of security so that educational, governmental, and community activities can continue as normal.
“The presence of the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 is to provide safety and comfort to the people, so they can be protected from disturbances caused by Armed Criminal Groups and Political Criminal Groups. This will also allow government activities to proceed smoothly,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations for Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., urged all residents, especially those in Nduga Regency, to contribute to maintaining security and stability.
“We call on all Papuan communities to work together in keeping Papua safe and conducive,” he said.
The activity is part of a continued humanist approach aimed at embracing the local community, especially children, in order to foster a peaceful atmosphere in Papua.
