Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz and Yahukimo Police Hold Reposition & Reconstruction of Violence Against Civilians

Papua – Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 together with Yahukimo Police carried out the repositioning and reconstruction of the case of attempted murder or persecution of Agnes G. Kasihiuw, located at three crime scenes (TKP) in Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency.

Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., who was accompanied by Deputy Head of Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized that this reposition and reconstruction is an important part of law enforcement against violent crimes that disturb the community.

“This repositioning and reconstruction is carried out as a form of our commitment in revealing the facts and complete chronology of the criminal acts that occurred. We want to ensure that the legal process runs professionally and transparently, as well as providing a sense of justice for the victims and the people of Papua, especially in Yahukimo,” said Brigadier General Pol. Faizal Ramadhani, Tuesday (5/13).

“We hope the public supports this law enforcement effort and is not easily provoked by misleading information. The apparatus will continue to work optimally to maintain security stability in Papua,” he added.

Repositioning and reconstruction were carried out in three different locations: action planning location (TKP 1), murder attempt scene (TKP 2), and declaration video recording location (TKP 3).

The main suspect, Ivan Kabak, played his own role during the repositioning. Meanwhile, the other four suspects, Markus Helembo our Simpan, Brutal Helembo, Vixon Suhun, and Kiri Pahabol, are played by the stand-in role. Victim, Agnes G. Kasihiuw, also played by a stuntman with his nephew and a civilian who helped the victim during the incident.

Repositioning and reconstruction began at Crime Scene 1, which is located at the Yahukimo Police Headquarters due to security considerations. At this location, three scenes were shown, including a meeting of perpetrators to plan acts of violence against civilians and officials on deserted roads.

In Crime Scene 2, namely Kali Wo Bridge, Echelon IV Housing, 12 scenes were shown. The scene includes the pursuit of the victim, the incident of the victim and his nephew falling into the accident while avoiding the stabbing, to the process of helping local residents.

Meanwhile at Crime Scene 3, three scenes were shown showing the process of recording a video declaration by the perpetrator, sending a video to Markus Helembo, and deleting the recording by Ivan Kabak from his device.

The suspects were charged with Article 340 Jo Article 53, 55, 56 of the Criminal Code or Article 351 paragraph (1) Jo Article 55, 56 of the Criminal Code with the threat of a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

From the results of the investigation, one suspect, namely Ivan Kabak, has been successfully arrested and has been designated as a suspect and detained, while the other four people have been issued a Wanted List (DPO) and are still being pursued by the authorities.

Head of Public Relations Operation Peace Cartenz-2025, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., appealed to the public to remain calm and support the continuation of the legal process. He also explained that TKP 1 was transferred to the Yahukimo Police Headquarters for the safety and smoothness of the repositioning and reconstruction process.

“This repositioning and reconstruction is expected to strengthen the evidence, help the investigation, and support the legal process against the perpetrators of serious crimes that threaten the safety of civilians in Yahukimo. Next, the case title process will be held again to determine the next legal step,” he concluded.

The National Police through the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz is committed to continuing to be present in the Papuan community in maintaining security, enforcing the law professionally, and creating a conducive situation that supports the creation of a sense of security and peace in Earth Cenderawasih.
