Building Trust, Police Take a Human-Centered Approach in Papua

Jayapura, May 10, 2025 — The Head of Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 (Kaops), Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, emphasized that a human-centered approach is a crucial part of the strategy to establish sustainable security in Papua. This statement was made during a humanitarian event held by the Public Relations Task Force (Kasatgas Humas) in Entrop, South Jayapura.

“We believe that security is not only built through repressive actions, but also through approaches that touch the hearts of the community. Our presence among the people, especially children, is part of our commitment to building a peaceful and harmonious Papua,” said Brig. Gen. Faizal.

Echoing this sentiment, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, Head of Public Relations Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz-2025, stated that the activity is part of a public communication strategy focused on restoring public trust in the police.

“We want to be present in the community not just as law enforcers, but also as friends and partners. This kind of approach is important to maintain stability and foster mutual trust,” he asserted.

This initiative is considered effective in fostering a sense of security and strengthening the relationship between law enforcement and the people of Papua, amid ongoing efforts to maintain lasting peace in the Land of Cenderawasih.
