Keerom, Papua, May 7, 2025 – Herman Yoku, the Head of the Wikaya-Arso Keerom Tribe and a Papuan traditional leader, expressed his support for the efforts of the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force 2025 in enforcing the law against Armed Criminal Groups (KKB) and Political Criminal Groups (KKP) in Papua. This support was conveyed in his statement in Arso, Keerom Regency, on Tuesday, May 7, 2025.
Herman Yoku emphasized that taking firm action against these criminal groups is crucial to maintaining peace and stability in Papua and other newly created provinces. He added that law enforcement is not only necessary for creating security but also for providing a sense of safety to the communities affected by criminal activities.
“We fully support Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force 2025 in carrying out their duties. We believe that with decisive measures, peace and security can be achieved in Papua,” said Herman Yoku.
In addition, Yoku also appreciated the active role of security forces who have been working hard to address threats from these criminal groups. He pointed out the many victims, both from the security forces and civilians, due to the criminal actions of the KKB.
“I would like to thank Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force 2025 for their success in providing us with a sense of security. We hope this effort continues to maintain safety in Papua,” he concluded.
