Central Papua-Nabire – The Red and White Front of the Republic of Indonesia (BMP-RI) encourages the enhancement of national insight education in all schools in Central Papua Province as a step to shape young generations with character and love for the homeland.
The Secretary General of BMP-RI, Ali Kabiay, emphasized that strengthening national values is crucial to protect the golden generation of Papua from the influence of issues that contradict the sovereignty of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
“We must instill love for the NKRI from an early age so that they are not easily provoked and remain focused on achieving their future,” Ali said in a statement in Nabire on Thursday (8/5/2025).
He cited the example of students still defacing their uniforms with the Morning Star symbol during graduation, reflecting a lack of national understanding.
“This is very regrettable. It shows that students are still lacking in awareness that such actions can harm their future,” he said.
Ali emphasized that national insight education should not be done half-heartedly and must be a serious concern for all parties, including the education department.
He hopes that educational institutions in Central Papua will be more active in instilling national values on an ongoing basis.
“So that our generation in Papua is not easily trapped in negative things,” he said.
In addition, Ali invites young generations to abandon attitudes that contradict the state and focus on building their future.
“So that they can become development actors in the Central Papua Province that we love together,” he concluded.
