Cartenz Peace Task Force Instills Positive Values in Mimika Students Through a Human Touch

Mimika, Papua — The Cartenz Peace Task Force-2025 continues to demonstrate its commitment to nurturing Papua’s young generation. On Wednesday (April 30, 2025) at 3:00 PM WIT, two members of the task force’s public relations team, Briptu Santriawan, S.H., and Bripda Adharmansyah, held a friendly dialogue session with schoolchildren along Jl. Cenderawasih in Mimika Regency.

The activity aimed to provide light educational messages to students as they returned home from school. In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the officers delivered positive messages about maintaining personal health, being cautious in social interactions, avoiding negative influences, and staying motivated in their studies to build a better future.

As a gesture of support and encouragement, the task force members also distributed snacks and light refreshments to the students. This simple act reflected the task force’s care and concern for Papuan children, with the hope of making them feel valued, supported, and motivated to continue their education.

“We want Papuan children to grow up in a safe and healthy environment. They need to be motivated to study because they are the future of this region. Giving out snacks is just a small way for us to cheer them on,” said Briptu Santriawan during the interaction.

This initiative is part of the non-repressive, human-centered approach that has become the hallmark of the Cartenz Peace Operation in maintaining security across Papua. Through open and friendly interaction, the task force shows that it is not only a security force, but also a caring partner in the community, especially for children.

The Head of Cartenz Peace Operation-2025, Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by Deputy Head of Operation, Commissioner Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized the importance of security forces being integrated into society, not just acting as protectors.

“We stress the importance of heart-to-heart approaches. Children must feel the presence of the state in supporting their growth. Direct education and communication like this are strategic steps to build both security and public trust,” said Brig. Gen. Faizal.

The same message was echoed by the Head of the Public Relations Task Unit of Cartenz Peace Operation-2025, Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., who encouraged the community to collaborate in protecting and guiding the younger generation in Papua.

“We invite all residents of Mimika, especially parents, to work together in shielding our children from harmful influences. Let’s create a positive environment where they can grow into individuals who contribute to their families, communities, and the nation,” he stated.

The community responded positively to the event. Parents who witnessed the interaction expressed happiness and hoped similar programs would be held regularly, as they bring a positive impact on their children.

Through this initiative, the Cartenz Peace Task Force-2025 once again affirms that security is not only maintained through force, but also through human compassion, attention, and genuine care for the future of Papua’s next generation.
