Nduga, Papua – The spirit of a humanitarian approach continues to define the actions of the personnel involved in the Cartenz Peace Operation. Among them is Bripda Natria Akhirul, a policewoman from the Nduga Sector, who engaged directly with schoolchildren in the region on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
This heartwarming activity occurred as children were returning home from school. Observing the lively gathering, Bripda Natria warmly approached the group of students, greeted them cheerfully, and engaged in light conversations while sitting casually with them. She also encouraged the children to stay motivated in pursuing their education and dreams.
The cheerful interaction became even more delightful when Bripda Natria invited the children to take photos together. With smiles lighting up their faces, the children enthusiastically posed with the uniformed policewoman.
“This simple act is important to show the children that security forces are not here to create fear but to protect them and be their friends,” said Bripda Natria after the activity.
The Head of the Cartenz Peace Operation 2025, Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by Deputy Head Kombes Pol. Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., praised this humane initiative conducted by personnel on the ground.
“Persuasive and humanitarian approaches are the cornerstone of the Cartenz Peace Operation. We want the people, especially the children of Papua, to feel that the presence of the police brings safety, goodness, and hope for a brighter future,” said Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani.
“We will continue to promote positive interactions like these as part of our efforts to build trust and create a secure and conducive environment across Papua,” he added.
Kombes Pol. Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., Head of the Public Relations Task Force of the Cartenz Peace Operation, also commended the humane approach displayed by his personnel.
“We deeply appreciate the efforts of Bripda Natria and other officers who prioritize humanitarian approaches in their interactions with the community, especially children. This is a reflection of the Cartenz Peace Operation’s commitment to building trust and fostering a sense of safety among the people of Papua,” stated Kombes Pol. Yusuf Sutejo.
He further emphasized that the presence of security forces in Papua is not solely for maintaining order but also for building harmonious relationships with all community elements.
“Through initiatives like this, we hope the children of Papua will grow up with love, trust, and respect for one another, understanding that security is a shared responsibility,” he concluded.
This small yet meaningful initiative forms part of the Cartenz Peace Operation’s strategy to build trust with the public, especially the younger generation, toward the security forces. By adopting humanitarian and persuasive approaches, the operation aims to nurture peace and harmony in Nduga and Papua as a whole.
