Puncak Jaya – A different atmosphere could be felt in Mulia District, Puncak Jaya Regency, Highland Papua, on Wednesday (April 23, 2025). Dozens of children from various villages gathered with cheerful faces to receive free haircut services provided by personnel from the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force 2025.
For the local community, this activity was more than just an ordinary haircut service. It became a rare and valuable moment where children could feel the care and affection of security personnel, who are usually recognized for their enforcement duties. Parents also came along, accompanying their children and expressing their gratitude for the initiative.
“We’re very happy. The children look neat now, and they also enjoyed joking around with the police officers,” said Mrs. Maria, one of the residents who accompanied her child.
The Task Force personnel not only showcased their haircutting skills but also engaged the children in friendly conversations, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere. Some officers even took time to play with the children after finishing the service.
This initiative is part of the social outreach approach carried out by the Cartenz Peace Operation 2025, as explained by the Head of Operations, Brig. Gen. Dr. Faisal Ramadhani, who was present at the scene. According to him, the presence of security forces is not just about maintaining safety, but also about building a sense of togetherness with the community.
A similar message was conveyed by the Head of Public Relations Task Force, Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, who emphasized the importance of fostering trust and emotional bonds with the locals.
Residents hope that activities like this will continue on a regular basis, as the impact is directly felt and helps ease the burden of communities, especially in areas that are hard to reach by public services.
