Jayapura – The leader of the Papuan People’s Assembly (MRP), Max Abner Ohee, has issued a firm response regarding the circulating claims of a group claiming to represent the West Papua Federal Republic (NRFPB), which states that there is another government in Papua with its own president.
In his statement, Max Abner Ohee urged the Papuan people not to be easily provoked by the issues spread by the group. He assessed that the group is comprised of individuals who do not understand history and intentionally distort facts for certain interests, ultimately harming the broader community, especially the younger generation of Papua.
“I urge the public not to respond to issues disseminated by certain groups, as they are trying to deceive the younger generation and distract them from their future,” he said.
The MRP leader also called on the group claiming to be part of the NRFPB to immediately cease all its activities. He also requested the TNI-Polri security forces to take immediate action and not grant permits for any activities on May 1.
“May 1 is a historic day marking Papua’s return to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI),” he emphasized.
Furthermore, Max stressed that there is only one legitimate head of state in Indonesia, namely President Prabowo Subianto, and one recognized flag, the Red and White flag. He also called on all Papuan people to unite and work together to build a peaceful, independent, and prosperous Papua.
“Let’s protect Papua together,” he concluded.
Finally, he requested the security forces to coordinate and take action against groups deemed to have violated the laws and regulations in Indonesia.
