The circulation of a video related to an organization claiming to represent the West Papua Federal Republic (NRFPB) is highly misleading to the public. This was stated by Ali Kabiay, a prominent young Papuan figure who actively promotes changes in the way young Papuans think.
“What the NRFPB group is doing is a provocative act aimed at dividing national unity,” he said.
It is essential to understand that Papua is part of the NKRI, a legitimate country recognized by the UN due to the struggles of its own people. Therefore, there is no country within a country, and this is merely ignorance, added Ali.
Furthermore, Ali emphasized that the history of Papuan people’s struggle for the NKRI dates back to the 1928 Youth Pledge and the Pepera, which is documented in historical records.
“Don’t distort history, as it can have fatal consequences for you later. Once again, Papua is Indonesia,” he stressed.
Ali urged the government to take firm action against groups attempting to disrupt the sovereignty of the NKRI through law enforcement, as this is equivalent to opposing the state.
“These perpetrators must be punished; the government cannot remain silent. They must be firm because they have undermined the sovereignty of the NKRI,” Ali added.
Papuan people are intelligent and aware of their history, so they should stop shouting about independence, as it will only hurt themselves. Development and human resources continue to progress for the welfare of Papuan society, he concluded.
