Pegunungan Bintang – The enthusiasm of the people of Pegunungan Bintang for the arrival of Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 was palpable. In Kampung Uaib, mothers gathered before dawn just to queue for health check‑ups, while children beamed as they received vitamins and hand‑washing soap kits. One resident, Mr. Matius (46), shared, “This is the first time we’ve received such comprehensive services—normally we have to walk an entire day to reach the nearest community health center.”
More than just medical care, the presence of the Task Force also brought a sense of security and reassurance of the State’s support in this border region. Several young people eagerly took part in training to become community health cadres, who will carry on village‑wide health monitoring after the team departs.
At the closing of the program, the Commander of Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, Lt. Col. (Inf.) Rudi Hartono, emphasized that this initiative is not a one‑off event. “We are committed to making quarterly visits, in cooperation with local government and NGOs. Our goal is to build synergy so that the people of Pegunungan Bintang are not only physically healthy, but also self‑reliant in maintaining hygiene and preventing disease,” he affirmed.
Looking ahead, Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 plans to establish a mobile health post equipped with a river‑ambulance, to further extend their reach into remote villages. In this way, the hope of realizing a peaceful, healthy, and prosperous Papua is gradually becoming a reality.
