“Children’s Laughter by the Bambar River, a Gift of Peace from the Damai Cartenz-2025 Public Relations Task Force”

Jayapura – Sentani – On Wednesday morning, April 9, 2025, the sun shone gently over Bambar Village, Waibhu District, Jayapura Regency. Along the banks of the clear-flowing Bambar River, the cheerful laughter of a group of children broke the morning silence. Around eight years old on average, they were immersed in simple games deeply rooted in the natural rhythms of Papua.

But that day was no ordinary day for them. A group of uniformed visitors arrived—different from the usual. Led by Second Police Inspector Syahrir Mahyuddin, S.H., and First Police Inspector I Gde Pradana Sthirabudhi, S.Ds., members of the Public Relations Task Force of Operation Damai Cartenz-2025 came with warm smiles and sincere intentions.

There was no tension, no distance. Their visit was to nurture connection and bring a message of peace. Two plastic balls they brought instantly sparked joy among the children. They played together on the green grass, accompanied by songs blending with the gentle murmur of the river.

The heartwarming scene became a rare moment. Amidst the modest surroundings and far from the city’s bustle, the children of Bambar Village received special attention—more than just entertainment, but also lessons in life.

The Head of the Damai Cartenz-2025 Public Relations Task Force, Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., explained that the visit was not only about building rapport but also about instilling values of peace in Papua’s young generation.

“We want them to grow into children who are devoted in worship, diligent in learning, obedient to their parents, live in harmony, and love their natural environment and homeland,” said Yusuf Sutejo.

In a warm and joyful atmosphere, the task force members invited the children to sing together while enjoying light snacks that were shared. A simple activity that left a lasting impression.

That day, by the Bambar River, peace was more than just an operational slogan. It came to life—in the smiles of children and in the presence of officers who chose to embrace rather than impose. A small step, perhaps, but one that may mark the beginning of a brighter future.
