Nduga – As part of their assistance visit to operational areas, the Ops Damai Cartenz (ODC) 2025 Assistance Team took time to carry out a humanitarian gesture by supporting the local Papuan economy. This activity took place at the Kenyam Airport Market in Nduga Regency on Tuesday morning (April 8).
The delegation was led by ODC-2025 Public Relations Task Force Head Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., along with ODC-2025 Tactical Task Force Head Police Commissioner Wahyu, S.I.K., M.H. They were accompanied by several task force personnel and directly mingled with the local vendors, most of whom were Papuan women known as mama-mama.
Amid the bustling and colorful atmosphere of the market, the task force personnel did not merely appear as officers, but also as members of the community showing genuine care. They purchased a variety of agricultural products such as vegetables, fruits, and tubers—local staples cultivated by nearby villagers.
Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo emphasized that the presence of the task force in Papua is not solely about security enforcement, but also about strengthening social ties with the community. He highlighted the importance of building trust and healthy communication between law enforcement and the public.
“There are no boundaries felt between the officers and the people. Moments like this are a vital part of the task force’s efforts to build strong community relationships, showing that our presence in Papua is not only about maintaining security, but also about caring and trying to understand the daily lives of the people around our area of duty,” he said.
He added that small actions like greeting, listening, and supporting local economic activities are fundamental steps in fostering togetherness and mutual trust. He also appreciated the warm and cheerful welcome given by the mama-mama Papua.
This activity is part of a more human-centered approach in the implementation of Ops Damai Cartenz-2025, which prioritizes not only security aspects, but also social, cultural, and humanitarian dimensions. Through interactions like this, the task force hopes to maintain regional stability and strengthen harmonious relations between security personnel and the people of Papua.
