Update on Yahukimo Incident: 13 Bodies Found, 12 Evacuated and Identified

Yahukimo, Papua Pegunungan – The joint team from Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, together with Yahukimo Police Resort and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), continues the evacuation and identification process of victims of the brutal acts committed by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) who identify themselves as Kodap XVI Yahukimo and Kodap III Ndugama.

As of today, Sunday, April 13, 2025, a total of 13 bodies have been discovered, 12 of which have been successfully evacuated and identified. The evacuation of 1 remaining body is scheduled for tomorrow due to weather conditions. The following is the breakdown of the 13 bodies found:

2 bodies from the crime scene at Tanjung Pamali
5 bodies from two points in Bingki Village
3 bodies from Area 22 gold mining site in Yahukimo
1 body from the crime scene at Muara Kum
1 body from the crime scene in Pegunungan Bintang Regency
1 body from Area 33 gold mining site in Yahukimo (to be evacuated tomorrow due to weather)
Currently, the Police Medical Team and DVI (Disaster Victim Identification) Unit have successfully identified the following 12 bodies:

Wawan Tangahu, Dusun III, South Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Sulawesi (Crime Scene: Area 22, Yahukimo gold mining site)
Suardi Laode alias Kaswadi, Dusun III, South Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Sulawesi (Crime Scene: Area 22, Yahukimo gold mining site)
Stenli Humena, Kalama Darat Village, Sangihe Islands Regency, North Sulawesi (Crime Scene: Muara Kum)
Yuda Lesmana, Boarding house on Jalan Paradiso, Dekai (Crime Scene: Camp Muradala, Bingki Village)
Riki Rahmat, Ranomolua Village, Besulutu Subdistrict, Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province (Crime Scene: Camp Muradala, Bingki Village)
Muhammad Arif, Boarding house in Settlement Route II, Dekai (Crime Scene: Camp Muradala, Bingki Village)
Safaruddin, Boarding house in Settlement Route II, Dekai (Crime Scene: Camp Muradala, Bingki Village)
Abdur Raffi Batu Bara, Boarding house in Settlement Route II, Dekai (Crime Scene: Camp Muradala, Bingki Village)
Stefanus Gisbertus, Tala Village, West Seram Regency, Maluku (Crime Scene: Tanjung Pamali, Seradala District)
Zamroni, Dulak Hamlet, Gantungan Village, Tegal Regency, Central Java (Crime Scene: Tanjung Pamali, Seradala District)
Ariston Kamma, Tantanan Tallunglipu, South Sulawesi – already handed over to the family (Crime Scene: Pegunungan Bintang Regency)
Rusli, Buti Village, Merauke Regency, Papua (Crime Scene: Area 22, Yahukimo gold mining site)
Head of Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., emphasized the commitment of the authorities to finalize the evacuation process and to continue the pursuit of the perpetrators.

“We will not stop giving our best efforts. The perpetrators will be pursued and dealt with strictly in accordance with the law. Such heinous acts against civilians cannot be tolerated,” said Brigadier General Faizal.
Meanwhile, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., as Head of Public Relations for Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, urged the public to remain calm and not be provoked by unverified information.

“We urge the public not to disseminate unverified information and to continue following official updates from us. Let us work together to maintain a safe and peaceful environment,” he stated.
Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz continues to intensify coordination and cooperation with various parties on the ground to ensure that all victims are promptly identified and returned to their respective families.
