Three Former TPN-OPM Members from South Papua Rejoin the Republic of Indonesia

South Papua – Three former members of the West Papua National Liberation Army–Free Papua Organization (TPN-OPM) from Kodap V in South Papua have officially returned to the fold of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

One of the former members, identified as LK, said their decision to return was driven by a desire to live peacefully with their families, contribute to regional development, and coexist with the community and security forces.

“We have returned to NKRI because we want to live side by side with our brothers in peace and help develop our village. Our hamlet is already within NKRI territory, and that’s why we decided to rejoin,” LK told rri.co.id.

In response, Commander of Korem 174/ATW Merauke, Brigadier General Wulang Nur Yudhanto, S.E., M.M., Han., expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the goodwill shown by the three individuals in choosing to rejoin Indonesia and participate in building their region.

Brig. Gen. Wulang expressed hope that their decision would serve as an example for other group members to choose the path of peace for a better future for the people of South Papua.
