Intan Jaya, Central Papua – A child sustained a serious injury to the leg after falling while playing with friends in Sugapa District, Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua, on Sunday (April 6). The incident quickly drew the attention of personnel from the Tactical Task Force of the Cartenz Peace Operation who were present in the area.
The child suffered an open wound after falling on rough terrain. With limited access to healthcare facilities in the region, one of the Cartenz Peace Operation personnel, Bharada Sam Esa, promptly administered first aid on-site.
This humanitarian response was carried out by Cartenz Peace Operation personnel stationed in Sugapa and was directly supported by operation leaders, including Deputy Chief of the Cartenz Peace Operation, Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., and Head of the Operation’s Public Relations Task Force, Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T.
Given the region’s remote nature and limited access to formal healthcare services, the swift action demonstrated a strong commitment to assisting residents in hard-to-reach areas. The first aid was performed directly at the scene, emphasizing the state’s presence and responsiveness in rural and underserved communities.
The local community welcomed the aid warmly. Residents expressed appreciation for the personnel’s concern not only for security but also for their social and health well-being. They voiced hopes that similar initiatives would continue to be carried out regularly in remote areas.
Deputy Chief of Operations, Adarma Sinaga, emphasized that the medical assistance reflects a humanistic approach taken by the security forces in Papua. “Our presence here is not limited to ensuring security; we also aim to foster a strong humanitarian connection with the community,” he stated.
Similarly, Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo reaffirmed that the Cartenz Peace Operation is not solely focused on law enforcement but also carries a humanitarian mission.
