PT Pelni Prepares Additional Ships at Nabire Port to Anticipate Passenger Surge

NABIRE – In anticipation of the peak of the 2025 Eid return flow next week, PT Pelni Nabire Branch has taken proactive measures by preparing two additional ships at Nabire Port, Nabire Regency, Central Papua.

The Head of PT Pelni Nabire Branch, Jhoni Rahman, stated that a significant increase in passenger numbers is expected starting April 6, 2025. During this period, thousands of travelers who had previously arrived in Nabire will begin their return journeys.

“It is estimated that the number of departing passengers could exceed 500 to 1,000 people. To accommodate this surge, we have prepared two additional ships, KM Labobar and KM Dobonsolo,” Jhoni said on Tuesday (April 1, 2025).

In addition to adding more vessels, PT Pelni will also enhance services and supervision at Nabire Port to ensure smooth and safe travel for passengers. These measures aim to guarantee security, comfort, and punctuality during the Eid return flow period.

“We will ensure that all departure processes, from ticket purchases to boarding the ships, run in an orderly manner and comply with procedures,” he added.

With these preparations, PT Pelni hopes that the return flow at Nabire Port will proceed safely and smoothly without major disruptions for travelers.
