Papua – Yahukimo Regency is one of the areas that receives special attention in maintaining public security and order (Kamtibmas) in the Papua Mountains region. To create a conducive situation, the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz continues to strengthen synergy with the Yahukimo Police and the elements of the Regional Leadership Council (Muspida), which includes local governments, TNI, religious figures, traditional figures, and various elements of the community.
Head of Operation Peace Cartenz, Brigadier General Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.I.K., S.Sos., M.H., emphasized that persuasive and humanist approaches remain the top priority in maintaining security stability in Yahukimo.
“We are committed to continue to prioritize preemtive and preventive steps. Solid collaboration between Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz, Yahukimo Police, and Muspida is the main key in creating a safe and peaceful situation. We want the public to feel comfortable and believe that the presence of the apparatus is to protect and help them, not the other way around,” he said, Friday (28/3).
Deputy Head of Peace Operation Peace Cartenz-2025, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, also emphasized the importance of building public trust through a close approach to the community.
“We continue to strive to create positive interactions through social activities, humanitarian services, and community-based economic empowerment. Security is not enough to be maintained only with strength, but also with the heart and concern for the welfare of the community,” he said.
On the other hand, the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz also actively conveys accurate information to prevent the spread of hoaxes and provocative issues. Head of Public Relations Operation Peace Cartenz, Cheif Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., emphasized the importance of effective public communication as part of a security strategy.
“We continue to educate the public so that they are not easily provoked by information that cannot be accounted for. With the delivery of correct and transparent information, we hope that public awareness will increase that security is a shared responsibility. Collaboration between officials and residents is the foundation for the creation of a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere in Yahukimo,” he said.
