Demta, March 24, 2025 – In commemoration of the holy month of Ramadan, the Demta Police Sector, Jayapura Police Resort, and Papua Regional Police organized a social initiative by distributing takjil to both Muslim and non-Muslim residents in front of the mosque in Demta Village, Demta District, Jayapura Regency, on Monday (03/24/2025). The event, which began at 4:30 PM WIB, was led by the Head of the Demta Police Sector, Second Police Inspector I. Sepbiantoro, S.H.
This takjil distribution involved members of the Bhayangkari (police officers’ wives association) and several personnel from the Demta Police Sector. A total of 100 takjil packages and iftar meals were distributed to local residents passing through the area.
“This takjil distribution is a form of our concern for the community, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. We hope this initiative benefits those who are on their way home before breaking their fast,” said Second Police Inspector I. Sepbiantoro.
The social initiative received a positive response from the local community. Many residents expressed their appreciation for the efforts made by the Demta Police Sector. The event proceeded smoothly and in an orderly manner.
“We are very grateful to the Demta Police Sector, Jayapura Police Resort, and Papua Regional Police for their care and attention. This is really helpful for us as we observe our fast,” said one of the motorists who received a takjil package.
On the same occasion, the Head of the Demta Police Sector, Second Police Inspector I. Sepbiantoro, S.H., stated that similar activities will continue as part of efforts to strengthen the relationship between the Demta Police Sector and the community. He also urged residents receiving the takjil packages to uphold religious tolerance and mutual respect.
This initiative is expected to not only provide direct benefits to the community but also raise awareness about the importance of sharing and caring for others, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. By doing so, a sense of togetherness and harmony between the police force and the community can be continuously fostered.
