Jayapura – Papua Regional Police are ready to secure the implementation of the 1446 H Eid prayer in 398 locations spread across 21 districts and cities in Papua. A total of 1,791 personnel have been alerted to ensure the safety and smoothness of Muslim worship on the holiday.
Papua Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Patrige Renwarin, revealed that out of the 398 locations, 186 of them are mosques, while the rest are fields or open places that are used as locations for the Eid prayer.
“We have prepared a security strategy so that the community can carry out worship comfortably and solemnly. The presence of officers in the field also aims to ensure that the situation remains conducive during Eid al-Fitr,” said Inspector General of Police Patrige Renwarin.
In addition to maintaining security during the Eid prayer, the Papua Regional Police have also deployed personnel to provide services during the month of Ramadan, including security for people who go home and do activities before the holiday.
The Police Chief also appealed to the public to maintain security and order in their respective areas. He asked that the public not be easily provoked by issues that are deliberately spread by irresponsible parties with the aim of disrupting the stability of security.
“We invite all people to work together to maintain peace in Papua. Do not easily believe in hoax news or provocations that can cause unrest. If there is anything suspicious, immediately report it to the authorities,” said the Police Chief.
With the security that has been prepared, it is hoped that Muslims in Papua can perform the Eid prayer safely and solemnly. The Papua Regional Police is committed to continuing to provide the best service for the creation of a conducive situation during the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1446 H.
