Jayapura, March 17, 2025 — The Chairman of the Mandala Trikora Youth of Papua Province, Ali Kabiay, expressed his highest appreciation to the Indonesian National Police (Polri) through the Damai Cartenz-2025 Task Force for successfully uncovering a network supplying firearms and ammunition to the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Papua.
This success was achieved through collaboration between the Damai Cartenz Task Force and the Regional Police (Polda) of Papua, West Papua, East Java, and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY).
Ali Kabiay, who also serves as the Secretary General of the Barisan Merah Putih of the Republic of Indonesia Papua Province (BMP-RI Papua), stated that this achievement deserves appreciation as a concrete step in maintaining the security and safety of Papuan society from the threat of the KKB.
“We hope that the Damai Cartenz-2025 Task Force continues to work with high dedication to create a safe and orderly public security situation (kamtibmas) for all people in Papua,” said Ali Kabiay.
The cross-province arms and ammunition smuggling case has become a major focus for security forces in their efforts to reduce conflict escalation in Papua. With the uncovering of this weapons supply network, it is hoped that acts of violence perpetrated by the KKB will decrease, providing a greater sense of security for the people in Papua.
