Uncovering the Gun Supply Network by Cartenz 2025 Peace Operation Task Force Draws Attention

Jayapura, March 17, 2025 – The successful operation of the Cartenz 2025 Peace Operation Task Force in revealing a network supplying firearms and ammunition to Armed Criminal Groups (KKB) in Papua has garnered positive attention from Max Abner Ohee, the Deputy Chair II of the Papua People’s Council (MRP).

During a press conference held in Kota Raja, Jayapura, on Monday (March 17), Max Abner Ohee, who also serves as the Chairman of the Barisan Merah Putih (BMP RI-Papua) of Papua Province, emphasized the importance of this initiative in enhancing the safety and security of the Papuan community from KKB threats.

“This success demonstrates the real commitment of security forces to maintain stability in the Land of Papua, and we appreciate the hard work carried out by the Cartenz 2025 Task Force in collaboration with the Papua Police, West Papua Police, East Java Police, and Yogyakarta Police. This is a step forward in maintaining public order,” Ohee stated.

Max Abner Ohee also expressed his hope that the Cartenz 2025 Task Force will continue to work with high dedication to create a secure and conducive environment for the people of Papua. “We recognize that challenges on the ground are not easy, but with synergy and commitment, we believe that security in Papua can be upheld,” he added.

The Cartenz 2025 Peace Operation Task Force is a unit established by the Indonesian National Police to address various security disturbances, particularly related to KKB activities in the region. This operation is expected to mitigate the negative impacts of militant actions and assist rehabilitation efforts in Papua, creating a more peaceful and stable environment for the entire community.

With this positive development, many hope that the government and security agencies will continue to collaborate in upholding security and building public trust in the actions taken for mutual welfare.
