Oksibil – Amid the solemnity of Sunday worship, the congregation of Bethel Indonesia Church in Oksibil District, Pegunungan Bintang Regency, experienced a different kind of presence from security personnel. Members of the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 were directly deployed to the church to ensure the smooth running of the service while also fostering closer relations with the community.
For many worshippers, the presence of security forces during the service was not just a symbol of protection but also a demonstration of care for the social and religious life of the people. A church member, Mrs. Sari, expressed,
“We feel safe and comfortable because the officers are always present during our important moments. Their presence allows us to worship peacefully without worrying about security threats.”

According to the Deputy Head of Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., a humanistic approach is the key to every security measure undertaken by the task force. He emphasized,
“We want to show that Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz is here not just to maintain security but also to build strong relationships with the people. Our involvement in religious activities is part of our effort to connect with the community.”
The local community has responded positively to this approach. Mr. Joko, a community leader, stated,
“The humanistic approach taken by the officers makes us feel valued. They are not just security personnel but also partners who genuinely care about our lives.”
The security measures at Bethel Indonesia Church are part of a broader initiative by Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 to maintain a peaceful environment in Pegunungan Bintang. Previously, task force personnel had also participated in other religious activities, such as delivering sermons before Tarawih prayers at Al-Ikhlas Mosque in Oksibil, further demonstrating their commitment to community engagement.
Many residents believe that the presence of security officers during religious services not only provides a sense of safety but also fosters emotional bonds and trust between the people and law enforcement.
“We feel a personal connection developing because the officers experience our way of life, especially on important religious occasions like this. That means a lot to us,” said one church member.
