This operation was the result of intensive surveillance conducted from March 1 to 7, 2025, uncovering the movement of weapons from Jayapura to Puncak Jaya. According to intelligence reports, the weapons were to be delivered by the main suspect, Yuni Enumbi (29 years old), who was eventually arrested during the operation.

On March 6, 2025, the Damai Cartenz-2025 Task Force successfully apprehended Yuni Enumbi at KM 76, Keerom Regency. In addition to Yuni, two other individuals were also detained: Yudhi Kalalo, a truck driver, and Matius Payokwa, a helper.

Suspect Confessions and Ongoing Investigation
During questioning, Yuni Enumbi confessed that the weapons were purchased for IDR 1.3 billion from outside Papua and were intended to be handed over to the KKB in Puncak Jaya. Meanwhile, the driver and helper who were arrested claimed they were unaware of the contents of their cargo.

The Public Relations Officer of Damai Cartenz-2025, Kombes Pol Yusuf Sutejo, emphasized that the operation is still under further investigation.

“This success is not the end of the operation but rather the beginning of a deeper investigation. We will continue to trace the origins of these weapons and identify all parties involved,” said Kombes Yusuf.

Meanwhile, the Head of Operations for Damai Cartenz-2025, Brig. Gen. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, praised the team’s hard work in thwarting the smuggling attempt.
