Jayapura – The Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) of Papua Province targets Regional Original Revenue (PAD) in 2025 of Rp515 billion, lower than the previous year’s target of Rp687 billion. This decrease is caused by the transfer of the management of Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) to the district and city governments.
“The target of PAD is down compared to the previous year, which is Rp687 billion. It happened because the PKB operation has been managed by the district and city governments,” said the Acting Head of Bapenda Papua, Yosefina Fransina Way, in Jayapura, Friday (8/3).
Opsen is an additional tax levy based on a certain percentage levied on taxes owed from PKB, Motor Vehicle Name Return Duty (BBNKB), and Non-Metallic Mineral and Rock Tax (MBLB).
Despite experiencing a decrease in the target, Bapenda Papua is still optimistic to achieve the set figure by exploring the potential of regional assets that have not been utilized to the maximum. Yosefina invites all Regional Device Organizations (OPD) to play an active role in asset optimization to improve PAD.
“Success in managing assets will greatly affect regional income and Papua’s development in the future,” he explained.
He hopes that 26 retribution-generating OPDs can work together in this effort. One example of the proposed asset utilization is the use or rental of the former National Sports Week (PON) XX-2021 by the Youth and Sports Service. In addition, the potential in the marine and fisheries sectors is also considered to be able to make a significant contribution.
“With better management, government assets can be a significant source of PAD. Budget efficiency from the central government requires us to work more optimally in utilizing existing assets,” concluded Yosefina.
