Wamena, March 3, 2025 – In an effort to strengthen the synergy between security forces and the community, Ipda Amelia Mega Kartika Kawilarang, S.Psi., a member of the Policewomen from Peace Operation Cartenz-2025, visited Jibama Market in Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency, Papua Pegunungan.
With a humanistic approach, Ipda Amelia engaged in warm interactions with local Papuan women while shopping for fruits and vegetables. This activity took place just before the breaking of the fast, showcasing that Wamena remains safe and conducive for its residents.
During her transactions, Ipda Amelia listened to the interesting stories of the vendors in addition to purchasing their goods. This activity serves as a tangible expression of support for the local economy, aimed at enhancing the welfare of the local community.
Comb. Pol. Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., the Public Relations Task Force Commander of Peace Operation Cartenz-2025, explained that such activities are intended to build public trust in security forces. “We want to emphasize that Wamena is always safe. A humanistic approach is crucial for maintaining social and economic stability in this region,” he stated.
Through these interactions, it is hoped that the community will become increasingly assured that the presence of security forces is not only to maintain order, but also to facilitate their social and economic lives.
