Yalimo – Ops Damai Cartenz 2025 personnel conducted a social service event by distributing food aid packages to residents in Honita Village, Elelim District, Yalimo Regency, on Friday (Feb 21). The initiative, led by Briptu Fatwa, was a demonstration of concern for the local community.
The aid included essential supplies such as rice, instant noodles, eggs, and other staple foods. The community warmly welcomed the initiative and expressed their appreciation for the security forces’ efforts to support their well-being.
A local community leader from Honita Village, Akulak Lagowan, expressed his gratitude to the TNI-Polri and Ops Damai Cartenz for their role in maintaining security in Yalimo.
“We are grateful to the TNI-Polri for their success in maintaining security, including law enforcement efforts. May God bless us all,” he said.
He also emphasized the importance of religion in fostering peace within the community.
“The Gospel arrived here first. That’s why we believe that if religion is practiced properly, the government can also function peacefully. In the past, before religious teachings, our community still followed old practices. But now, we must uphold the values of goodness that have been taught,” he added.
Additionally, Akulak Lagowan reminded the community, especially the younger generation, to avoid being influenced by groups that could disrupt Yalimo’s security and stability.
“As community leaders, we want to ensure that young people do not fall into influences that could harm themselves or this region. The future of Yalimo is in their hands, and we must all work together to keep it safe and peaceful,” he concluded.
This initiative is part of Ops Damai Cartenz’s ongoing efforts to maintain security and foster a stronger, more harmonious relationship with the people of Papua, particularly in Yalimo Regency.
