Yalimo – The Cartenz 2025 Peace Operation Task Force has taken another strategic step in its law enforcement efforts in Papua. On Monday, February 10, 2025, a team led by the Head of the Investigation Sub-Task Force, Kompol Suheriadi, S.I.K., M.M., secured evidence in the form of clothing belonging to Nikson Matuan, alias Okoni Siep. The clothing is believed to have been worn during Aske Mabel’s claim of being the Eastern Balim Yali-Yalimo Regional Commander on October 31, 2024.
This operation involved personnel from various units of the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force, including Deputy Intelligence Task Force Chief AKP Safri, Padal I AKP Budi Basrah, S.E., M.H., and Padal II AKP Lukman Luking, S.H., along with support from approximately 20 other personnel. The team left the Law Enforcement Task Force Post at 1:35 PM WIT to head to Nikson Matuan’s home in Aluis Village, Yalimo.
Upon arrival at the location, the team secured two main pieces of evidence: one black shirt and one pair of black pants. Once the evidence collection was completed, the team safely returned to the Law Enforcement Task Force Post without any obstacles.
The Head of the Cartenz Peace Operations, Brig. Gen. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by the Deputy Operations Chief of the Cartenz Peace Ops, Kombes Pol. Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized that the security of this evidence is part of an ongoing legal process that is conducted according to procedures and transparently.
“This step is part of the investigation to uncover the existing legal facts. We ensure that all procedures are carried out professionally while emphasizing a humane approach,” Brig. Gen. Faizal stated.
He also affirmed that the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force will remain committed to maintaining security stability in Papua, particularly in Yalimo, to prevent potential disturbances that could disrupt public order.
The Chief of Public Relations for the Cartenz Peace Operation, Kombes Pol. Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., urged the public to remain calm and not to be easily provoked by unverified information.
“We encourage the community to stay vigilant and not to be influenced by issues whose truths are unclear. Let’s work together to keep the situation conducive,” said Kombes Yusuf.
With the securing of this evidence, it is hoped that the legal process can proceed more effectively, providing clarity in the case currently being handled by the Law Enforcement Task Force, the Investigation Task Force, and the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Yalimo Police.
