This process took place on Monday, February 10, 2025, led by the Head of the Investigation Sub-Task Force, Kompol Suheriadi, S.I.K., M.M.

As part of the law enforcement measures, the collection of evidence involved personnel from various task forces. The team departed from the Law Enforcement Task Force Post at 1:35 PM WIT toward Nikson Matuan’s home in Aluis Village, Yalimo. Upon arriving at the site, officers secured two main pieces of evidence: one black shirt and one pair of black pants. After completing the evidence collection, the team returned to the Law Enforcement Task Force Post without facing any challenges in the field.

The Head of the Cartenz Peace Operations, Brig. Gen. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by Deputy Operations Kombes Pol. Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., asserted that the actions taken are part of a professional and transparent law enforcement effort.

“The collection of evidence is a crucial step in the ongoing investigation. We ensure that all procedures were followed in accordance with applicable regulations while maintaining a humane approach in the field,” stated Brig. Gen. Faizal.

Furthermore, he emphasized that they remain committed to maintaining security stability in Papua, especially in the Yalimo region, to prevent potential disturbances that could disrupt public order.

On the other hand, the Chief of Public Relations for the Cartenz Peace Operation, Kombes Pol. Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., urged the public to remain calm and not to be easily provoked by unverified issues.

“We call on the public not to be influenced by information that may exacerbate the situation. Together, we must maintain security and order in this area,” said Kombes Yusuf.

He reaffirmed that the police would continue to carry out their duties professionally in upholding the law and providing protection to the public.

With the securing of this evidence, it is hoped that the legal process can proceed more effectively, providing clarity to the case being handled by the Law Enforcement Task Force, the Investigation Task Force, and the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Yalimo Police.
