YALIMO – In an effort to strengthen ties with the community, the Health Sub-Task Force of Ops Damai Cartenz 2025 held a worship service with the congregation in Yalimo Regency on Sunday, February 9, 2025.
The event, held at the Evangelical Christian Church (GKI) Pniel in Elelim, was attended by First Police Inspector (Ipda) Dr. Budi Agustian and Chief Police Brigadier (Bripka) Heribertus A.B. Tena, S.Tr.AK., M.Si, along with local congregation members.
The worship service took place in a solemn and warm atmosphere, featuring prayers for the safety of TNI-Polri personnel and the government, who remain committed to serving the people of Yalimo. In a spirit of harmony, the congregation and Ops Damai Cartenz personnel prayed for the region to be free from all forms of conflict and to always be blessed with peace.
“We are very grateful to be able to worship with the people of Yalimo. Our hope is that security and tranquility will always prevail in this region. We also pray for the soldiers and officers on duty, that they may always be protected by God in their service to the nation and country,” said Ipda Dr. Budi Agustian.
The closeness between the congregation and the police personnel was strongly felt throughout the worship service. This moment of togetherness reflected the strong synergy between security forces and the community in maintaining order and peace in Papua.
Deputy Chief of Ops Damai Cartenz 2025, Police Commissioner (Kombes Pol.) Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., expressed his appreciation for this event as part of a humanistic approach to maintaining security in Papua.
“We always emphasize the importance of a humanistic approach and partnership with the community as the key to creating a safe and conducive environment. This joint worship service is clear evidence that the police are not only tasked with law enforcement but also play a role in fostering unity and peace within society,” said Kombes Pol. Adarma Sinaga.
Meanwhile, the GKI Pniel congregation warmly welcomed the presence of police personnel in their worship service.
“We feel happy and blessed by the presence of our brothers from the police, who joined us in worship. May this togetherness further strengthen our relationship and uphold peace in Yalimo,” said one of the GKI Pniel congregation members.
This event serves as tangible proof that brotherhood and peace can continue to be maintained within the community by fostering a spirit of togetherness between citizens and security personnel, working together to achieve a safe and harmonious Papua.
