Yahukimo- The Satgas Ops Damai Cartenz 2025 team successfully arrested Iyoktogi Telenggen, a fugitive from the Armed Criminal Group (KKB), also known as Upinip Kogoya or Upinip Telenggen. The arrest took place on Monday, February 3, 2025, at approximately 1:11 PM WIT in Dekai, Yahukimo Regency, Papua.
Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., Head of Ops Damai Cartenz 2025, confirmed that Iyoktogi Telenggen (46) hails from Komapaga Village, West Sinak District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua. He had long been a target of operations due to his involvement in multiple acts of violence that resulted in numerous casualties.
1. June 25, 2021 Involved in the shooting and assault of construction workers in Bingki Village, Seradala District, Yahukimo, which resulted in four deaths and one injury.
2. October 16, 2023 Strongly suspected as the main perpetrator of the murder of 13 gold miners in Kali El, Seradala District, Yahukimo, leaving one person injured.
Iyoktogi Telenggen had been on the Wanted List (DPO) since November 2023 due to his involvement in multiple violent acts that threatened public safety.
Seized Evidence:
– 1 traditional woven bag (noken)
– 2 head coverings
– A sum of cash in Rp50,000 and Rp20,000 denominations
– 1 wallet containing cassowary feathers
– Jewelry and other items, including bracelets, necklaces, and medicated oil
Iyoktogi Telenggen is currently in the custody of the Satgas Ops Damai Cartenz 2025 team for further investigation.
Kasatgas Humas Ops Damai Cartenz 2025, Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., urged the people of Yahukimo to remain calm and not be easily provoked by unverified information.
“We urge the public to stay vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity to the authorities. The National Police and the Indonesian Military (TNI) will continue to work together to maintain security stability in Papua, particularly in Yahukimo,” said Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo.
