YAHUKIMO- As a gesture of compassion for the family of an assault victim, the Yahukimo Police conducted a humanitarian visit to the mourning home of the late La Jahari in the Social Street complex, Dekai, on Friday (31/1) at approximately 4:30 PM WIT.
Led by the Deputy Chief of Yahukimo Police, AKBP Abd. Kadir, the visit was also attended by Unit 1 SPKT Head, Ipda Hariyadi, along with several other police officers. During the visit, the police provided assistance as a form of moral support for the grieving family. The late victim’s wife, Mrs. Ratna, received the aid with deep emotion.
In addition to offering condolences, the Yahukimo Police also shared updates on the ongoing investigation into La Jahari’s case. AKBP Abd. Kadir reaffirmed the police’s commitment to thoroughly investigating the incident and taking firm action against the perpetrators, who are suspected to be part of an armed criminal group (KKB).
*”We deeply mourn this tragic event. The Yahukimo Police will continue to work diligently to uncover the case and bring the perpetrators to justice,”* stated AKBP Abd. Kadir.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations for Ops Damai Cartenz 2025, Kombes Pol. Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., emphasized that the police would tighten security measures in Yahukimo to prevent similar incidents.
*”We will not remain silent in the face of violent acts. Law enforcement efforts will continue to ensure the safety of the community,”* he asserted.
The visit, which lasted approximately 40 minutes, proceeded smoothly and safely. After concluding their visit, the police delegation returned to the Yahukimo Police Headquarters.
This humanitarian visit is part of a humanistic approach by law enforcement to maintain security and order in Papua, particularly in Yahukimo. The police also urged the public to stay vigilant, avoid provocation, and immediately report any suspicious activities to ensure a safe and conducive environment.
