Timika- As a show of support for the local economy, personnel from the Damai Cartenz-2025 Operation carried out a social initiative by purchasing goods directly from mama-mama Papua selling along Jalan Cenderawasih, SP3, Mimika, on Tuesday (January 28) afternoon.
Two officers, Briptu Yoga Yandika and Bripda Annisa Mahardika, participated in the activity by buying various local produce, such as vegetables and fresh fruits, from the street vendors. This initiative aimed not only to boost the income of small traders but also to strengthen the bond between security forces and the local community.
The Head of Public Relations for Ops Damai Cartenz-2025, Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, emphasized that this activity is part of a humanistic approach, which is a key focus of the Damai Cartenz-2025 Operation.
“We want to support small traders, especially mama-mama Papua, who rely on their agricultural products for their livelihood. This is a tangible form of our concern for the local economy,” said Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo.
He also added that direct interactions like this not only provide economic benefits for the traders but also help build trust and a closer relationship between the community and security personnel.
One of the vendors expressed her gratitude for the attention given by Ops Damai Cartenz-2025.
“We are happy and grateful. When the police come and buy from us, it makes us feel truly noticed and appreciated,” she said.
Through this initiative, it is hoped that the good relationship between security forces and the community will continue to grow, fostering a more harmonious environment and contributing to a peaceful, safe, and prosperous Papua.
