Timika- As a form of concern for the local economy, personnel from the Damai Cartenz-2025 Operation took real action by shopping directly from mama-mama Papua who sell their goods along Jalan Cenderawasih, SP3, Mimika, on Tuesday (January 28) afternoon.
Two officers, Briptu Yoga Yandika and Bripda Annisa Mahardika, participated in the initiative by purchasing various local produce, such as vegetables and fresh fruits, from street vendors. This effort aimed not only to help increase the income of small traders but also to strengthen the bond between security forces and the community.
The Head of Public Relations for Ops Damai Cartenz-2025, Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, emphasized that this initiative is part of a humanitarian approach that remains a priority for the Damai Cartenz-2025 Operation.
“We want to be directly present in the community, especially to support small traders, particularly mama-mama Papua, who rely on selling their produce. This is a tangible form of our commitment to the welfare of the local economy,” said Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo.
Beyond economic impact, interactions like these also serve as a bridge to build trust between security forces and the people. The presence of friendly and caring police officers is expected to create a more harmonious atmosphere in the community.
One vendor expressed her gratitude for the attention given by the police personnel. “When officers come like this, we feel more noticed. This really helps our small businesses,” she said with deep emotion.
