Papuan people appreciate the efforts of the police in creating security and community order (kamtibmas), which makes them feel more calm and comfortable in carrying out their daily activities. The presence of security forces, especially through the Bhabinkamtibmas program, is considered effective in maintaining security stability in various Papuan regions.
One of the residents of Jayapura Regency, Maria Wenda, expressed her gratitude for the presence of officers who are always active in maintaining security in their neighborhood. “We feel safer because the police often patrol and dialogue with the community. They also respond quickly if there is a problem,” he said.
Not only that, Maria Wenda also assessed that the presence of police officers not only provides a sense of security but also supports development in her area. “With a safe situation, we can work calmly, and the community is more confident to build their area,” he said.
The presence of kamtibmas is also supported by traditional and religious figures who also appeal to the community to continue to cooperate with the apparatus in maintaining peace. With a conducive situation, the Papuan people hope that development in their area can run more smoothly, so that welfare increases.
