ELELIM, YALIMO– The Cartenz-2025 Peace Task Force together with the Yalimo Police and the TNI conducted a patrol in Hobakma Village, Elelim District, Yalimo Regency, on Friday (10/1).
This step was taken in response to the shooting incident that killed two civilians on January 8, 2025, which was allegedly carried out by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) led by Aske Mabel.
The Head of the Cartenz-2025 Peace Operation, Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani revealed that this patrol aims to restore security stability in the area and prevent a recurrence of similar actions.
“In addition to patrols, we are also pursuing the KKB Aske Mabel who is suspected of being the perpetrator of the shooting. Supervision at the Yalimo Regency border has also been tightened with inspections of vehicles entering and leaving to prevent other potential threats,” said Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani.
In a separate location, Head of Public Relations Task Force for Peaceful Operation Cartenz-2025, Senior Commissioner of Police. Yusuf Sutejo appealed to the public to immediately report to the security forces if they know the whereabouts of the shooters.
“Community involvement is very important in helping the security forces maintain a conducive situation. We are committed to enforcing the law and providing a sense of security for the residents of Yalimo Regency,” added Senior Commissioner of Police. Yusuf Sutejo.
This joint patrol operation is expected to restore a sense of security among the community and anticipate further acts of violence by armed groups.
