Jayapura – The Chairman of Papua Indigenous Youth, Yan Cristian Arebo, SH, MH, has called on the people of Papua to work together in maintaining public order and security (Kamtibmas) throughout 2025. This appeal was made in response to the ongoing social and political dynamics, emphasizing the importance of ensuring stability and harmony in Papua.
In his statement, Yan Cristian Arebo highlighted that peace is a fundamental foundation for development and the well-being of the community.
“I urge all Papuans, both in urban and rural areas, to maintain a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere in 2025. Do not be easily provoked by issues that could divide our unity,” he said.
He also emphasized the significant role of indigenous communities, youth, and religious leaders in creating a conducive environment. According to him, everyone shares the responsibility for upholding public order and security.
“As indigenous youth, we must set an example in fostering peace. Let us join hands and stay focused on our shared goal of building a better Papua,” he added.
Yan Cristian Arebo further reminded the public to be cautious in responding to various circulating information, particularly on social media. He stressed the importance of filtering information and refraining from spreading unverified news.
“Hoaxes only create unrest in the community. Let us be wise in using social media and continue prioritizing unity,” he asserted.
As the Chairman of Papua Indigenous Youth, he expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the government and security forces in maintaining stability in Papua. However, he also reminded the public that their support is crucial to ensuring lasting peace.
“Papua is a land of peace, and it is our collective responsibility to safeguard this legacy. By uniting, we can overcome any challenges and bring Papua towards a brighter future,” Yan Cristian Arebo concluded.
