The meeting took place at the Vicon Room on the 2nd floor of the Papua Regional Police Headquarters in Koya Koso, on Monday (06/01/2025).

The event was attended by several key officials from the Papua Regional Police, including Senior Police Auditor Tk. III of the Papua Police Inspectorate, Commissioner Andi Yoseph Enoch, S.I.K., Head of Operations Bureau Binops, AKBP Mughoni, S.I.K., and Head of Personnel Management Bureau, AKBP Andreas Luhut Jaya Tampubolon, S.I.K., M.K.P.

The purpose of the meeting was to ensure a smooth operational transition, as well as to organize human resources and logistics to enable Papua Central Police Department to operate efficiently and effectively in fulfilling law enforcement duties in the region.

Papua Police Chief Renwarin explained that the establishment of Papua Central Police Department is part of a strategic effort to enhance police services for the public. Meanwhile, three other provinces will remain under the jurisdiction of the Papua Regional Police. This session focused on operational discussions and specific measures to support the newly formed Papua Central Police Department.

“Our focus is to achieve our 2025 targets. As the Regional Police Chief, I am continuing the efforts initiated by my predecessor. This year, we are setting goals to be accomplished, and each unit (satker) is expected to draft their plans with clear objectives,” stated the Police Chief.

Furthermore, the Police Chief highlighted the importance of placing personnel in the right positions. He emphasized that Papua Regional Police is a large organization, and transferring competent officers to the new police department must be carefully considered.

“Transferring officers who have accumulated years of experience in remote police sectors must be evaluated. I understand that some officers who have long served in remote areas might wish to be reassigned to cities like Nabire. This is something we must address together,” he explained.

The Police Chief concluded by stressing that ongoing evaluations of recruitment and personnel placements within the Papua Regional Police will continue to align with organizational needs and growth, particularly as the force moves forward into 2025.
