Jayawijaya, Papua – Herman Doga, the Chairman of the Jayawijaya Tribal Council (LMA), has called on the residents of Jayawijaya Regency to uphold security and order to ensure sustainable development in the region. His appeal was made during a community gathering in Wamena on Monday (January 6).
“Jayawijaya is our home. Let us work together to maintain peace and order in this land. By living in harmony, we can ensure that development progresses smoothly, benefiting everyone,” Doga emphasized.
He highlighted the importance of avoiding violence and actions that could provoke conflicts within the community. “Do not be easily swayed by unverified information. As residents of Jayawijaya, we must preserve harmony among all people, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or culture,” he added.
Doga also called on tribal, religious, and youth leaders to set an example by fostering a peaceful environment. He believes that their roles are crucial in educating the community on the value of unity and coexistence.
“We bear a significant responsibility to keep this land safe. Through unity, we can build a better Jayawijaya, ensuring a brighter future for the next generations,” he said.
The appeal was warmly received by various community leaders, including religious figures, youth representatives, and security officials, all of whom pledged to work together to maintain stability in the region.
Doga further urged the public to cooperate with security forces such as the military and police to prevent disturbances to public order. “Collaboration between the community and security forces is the key to ensuring Jayawijaya’s safety,” he concluded.
This initiative aims to pave the way for a safer, more harmonious, and prosperous Jayawijaya in 2025, fostering a peaceful environment conducive to development and progress.
