Papua – The Chairperson of the National Leadership Council of Indigenous Papuan Youth (DPN PAP), Jan Christian Arebo, expressed his deep appreciation to Polda Papua for their dedication, professionalism, and strong commitment to maintaining security and public order throughout 2024. In addressing various issues arising within the community, Polda Papua has demonstrated swift, firm, and just responses, which have contributed to increasing public trust in the institution.
“I commend the security measures implemented during the 2024 Regional Elections, including the legislative, gubernatorial, mayoral, and regent elections. Amid numerous challenges, Polda Papua successfully maintained neutrality and ensured that the entire democratic process proceeded safely, peacefully, and orderly. This allowed citizens to exercise their voting rights without fear or concern,” he stated.
Furthermore, Jan Christian highlighted the success of security efforts during key moments such as Christmas and New Year celebrations. The presence of police officers among the community created a sense of safety and tranquility, enabling the public to celebrate important religious holidays with reverence. He noted that this reflects Polda Papua’s genuine service to the community.
Jan Christian also emphasized that under the leadership of Irjen Pol Patrige Renwarin as the Papua Regional Police Chief, significant positive changes have occurred. He believes that firm yet humanistic leadership has played a crucial role in fostering a more harmonious relationship between the police and the Papuan people.
“As indigenous youth, we hope the synergy between the community and Polda Papua continues to strengthen. Together, let us build a peaceful, just, and prosperous Papua. Thank you to the Papua Regional Police Chief and the entire team for their outstanding dedication and hard work for the land of Papua,” he concluded.
