The government decided to continue Operation Peace Cartenz in Papua in 2025. Head of the Public Relations Task Force of the Peace Operation Cartenz Police Commissioner Dr.Bayu Suseno said that the approach used by the government is still the same. “Law enforcement,” he said in a written statement on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.
Bayu revealed that next year the scope of this operation will be expanded. “Previously being in nine areas will be added to minimize the movement of KKB (Armed Criminal Group, ensuring public safety in Papua,” he said.
Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2024 Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramdhani stated that his party had prepared for this follow-up operation by holding a Cartenz 2025 Peace Operation Pre-Operation exercise in the courtyard of the Papua Police Brimob Command Headquarters, Monday, December 11, 2024. “I hope all colleagues have prepared themselves before carrying out their duties in the field,” he said.
Brigadier General Dr. Faizal reminded personnel about the challenges of the situation in the operation area, especially in Yahukimo Regency, Papua Pegunungan Province. “For that I hope my colleagues in doing this exercise to be serious and focused. The mentality of colleagues will support the physical strength of colleagues later in carrying out tasks in the Operation area,” he said.
He instructed the training participants to always coordinate with the Law Enforcement Task Force (Gatgas Gakkum) of the Cartenz Peace Operation in every movement, including monitoring KKB activities. “Good cooperation is very necessary so that this operation can run smoothly and effectively,” he said.
