Jayapura– Cartenz-2024 Peaceful Operations Task Force successfully disarms one KKB named Topan, who is the perpetrator of the shooting of Bripda Choisu Rumabar, a member of Puncak Jaya Police in Lima-Lima Complex, Puncak Jaya Regency, Central Papua, on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
Head of Cartenz-2024 Peaceful Operations, Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, in his statement said that KKB Topan was killed in a gunfight between the KKB and the Cartenz Peaceful Operations Task Force team on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
“After the KKB shot Bripda Choisu Rumabar, our team moved quickly to give chase. As a result, after the gunfight on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, today, Wednesday, December 11, 2024, we conducted a search at the location and found KKB Topan, the perpetrator of the shooting of Bripda Choisu Rumabar, dead,” explained Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Faizal.
In a separate location, the Head of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operation Public Relations Task Force, Senior Commissioner Pol. Dr. Bayu Suseno, explained that the body of KKB Topan had been evacuated by the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operation Task Force team together with Puncak Jaya Regency health workers for medical examination and further investigation.
“For the body of KKB Topan, we have evacuated and medical action has been taken to support the investigation process by law enforcement officers,” said Senior Commissioner Pol. Dr. Bayu Suseno.
He continued, the victim of the shooting, Bripda Choisu Rumabar, is currently in safe condition and has received intensive care at the Papua Police Bhayangkara Hospital.
“Bripda Choisu’s condition has improved and continues to be monitored by the medical team,” said Senior Commissioner of Police Dr. Bayu Suseno.
Senior Commissioner of Police Dr. Bayu Suseno, reiterated that the Cartenz-2024 Peace Ops Task Force will continue to take firm action against the KKB who carry out criminal acts, both against civilians and security forces in Papua.
“Our commitment is clear, to create security in Papua and enforce the law against Armed Criminal Groups (KKB) who disrupt security in Papua,” said Senior Commissioner of Police Dr. Bayu Suseno.
