Jayapura- The success of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operation Task Force in maintaining security and peace in Papua has again drawn praise from various Papuan figures. The professional performance of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operation Task Force, which not only succeeded in enforcing the law against the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) but also freeing the Susi Air Pilot, received high appreciation.
One of the appreciations came from a Papuan church figure, Rev. Dr. Yones Wenda, who also serves as Secretary of the Synod of the Christian Gospel Tabernacle Church (Kingmi) Indonesia in Tanah Papua.
When met in Jayapura, Friday, December 6, 2024, Rev. Yones emphasized his support for the law enforcement efforts carried out by the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operation.
“We express our gratitude and appreciation to the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operation Task Force which has brought peace to Papua and succeeded in enforcing the law against the KKB so that the Papuan people can be safe from the cruelty of the KKB’s criminal actions,” said Rev. Yones full of praise.
He also strongly condemned the criminal acts carried out by the KKB, including the killing of civilians. Quoting the word of God, Rev. Yones called on the KKB to stop the violent acts, which he said were contrary to religious teachings.
In addition, he appealed to the Papuan people to work together to maintain security and order, especially ahead of the Christmas celebration in December. He hopes that this moment can be a time for all Christians in Papua to feel peace in commemorating the birth of the Savior.
In a separate place, the Head of the Cartenz-2024 Peace Operation Public Relations Task Force, Senior Commissioner of Police. Dr. Bayu Suseno, stated that the success of maintaining security in Papua cannot be separated from the support and close cooperation between the security forces and the community.
“Peace in Papua is our common hope. “Therefore, the role of the community and figures in Papua is very important in helping the security forces create a peaceful Papua,” said Kombes Pol. Dr. Bayu Suseno.
He added that the success in creating a conducive situation was not only the result of the work of the security forces, but also active support from the community. With synergy between traditional figures, the community, and the security forces, Kombes Pol. Bayu is optimistic that Papua will continue to be a safe and peaceful region.
