Jayapura – Retired TNI officer named La Ode (55), victim of shooting by an unknown person (OTK) in the Pasar Kago area, Kago Village, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua Province on Monday (02/12/2024), was evacuated to the Regency Mimika, Tuesday (3/12/2024).
The victim was evacuated at around 07.00 WIT, using the PK-RVE Registration Reven pilot aircraft.
Puncak Police Chief, Commissioner I Nyoman Punia, said that the victim had been evacuated to Mimika this morning.
“I’ve been to Timika earlier,” said I Nyoman when contacted via short message.
Furthermore, the Police Chief said, after arriving in Mimika the victim was immediately taken to Mimika Regional Hospital to receive further medical treatment.
As previously reported, a resident who was known to be a retired TNI officer was shot by OTK in the market area, Kago Village, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency on Monday night (02/12).
The victim was shot at around 19.15 WIT while on his way to perform Isha prayers to the Al Ikhlas Ilaga Mosque.
When crossing the road at the alley junction in Kago Market, the victim was able to see three OTKs at a distance of approximately 20 meters. However, the victim continued his journey to the mosque.
Not long afterward, three gunshots were heard from the workshop in the area, and the victim realized he had been shot and suffered a wound in the back of his shoulder.
At around 19.30 WIB, security forces evacuated the victim to Ilaga Regional Hospital to receive medical treatment for the gunshot wound he suffered.
